THE WORK Lockheed Martin has been embedded with the USSTRATCOM Nuclear Mission for 30+ years and has a track record of bringing innovative mission software solutions to this domain.

Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking engineers to support our USSTRATCOM software teams which create Planning and Command and Control (C2) capabilities as part of the Strategic Mission Planning and Execution System (SMPES) in a DevSecOps environment. In this role, you will help our team create modern Web-based, Java mission systems for the Nuclear community. The successful candidate will have experience with software systems built to exacting standards that are delivered on a DevSecOps cadence using Agile Scrum. WHO YOU ARE Our team needs a full-time Software Architect.

In this role, you will work with Govt engineers to understand the software environment for new mission capabilities and design and document architectures that provide context for developers. Your designs will need to prioritize cybersecurity, performance, and reliability to ensure software components can achieve mission goals. A key part of this position will be to pathfind on new patterns that can be leveraged by Agile teams. Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance.

Basic Qualifications • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent STEM field • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access • Experience designing system-to-system interfaces using REST, Kafka, and databases. • Experience briefing design solutions to stakeholders at various levels of technical capability • Experience coding Java and Web-based systems

Desired Skills • Agile experience using Atlassian Tools • USSTRATCOM mission insight (Intel, Planning, or C2) • Cybersecurity insights and experience evaluating vulnerabilities, threats, and risks • Experience with large-scale, complex, SW-based systems • Engineering experience with AFNWC SMPES, MPAS, NPES Systems Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $94400.00 - $175200.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.   • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
