Job description

Role: Senior DevOps Engineer
Location: Remote (Preferably local to Pleasanton, Vacaville, or Sacramento)
Duration: 12+ months
Pay Rate: $70 to $80
Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer with exceptional expertise in Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure architecture, automation, and infrastructure management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, securing, and optimizing Azure cloud environments while ensuring high availability, reliability, performance, and operational excellence. This role requires strong experience supporting mission-critical production environments, implementing cloud automation, and working closely with cross-functional engineering and operations teams.
Must-Have Skills:

  • Exceptional hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud and Azure Architecture.
  • Strong expertise in Azure cloud automation and deployment.
  • Extensive experience managing Azure cloud infrastructure, including: (Maintenance and production support, Security and compliance, Data protection and backup, Disaster Recovery (DR), High Availability (HA), Monitoring and alerting, Patching, Cloud governance)
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud automation.
  • Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
  • Strong DevOps experience supporting production environments.
  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting 24/7 production environments, including incident response and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Strong understanding of monitoring, observability, performance tuning, and reliability engineering.
  • Strong networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and connectivity.
  • Excellent technical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.


Preferred Skills:

  • Terraform, Ansible, Python or other automation technologies.
  • Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerized/microservices environments.
  • Experience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, or similar observability tools.
  • Experience designing HA/DR and multi-region Azure architectures.
  • Knowledge of Azure security, vulnerability management, and identity/access management.
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale Azure environments.
  • Exposure to Java/.NET application deployments.
  • Understanding of SQL Server and Oracle databases.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across infrastructure and applications.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
