About the office

The Information Technology Office plays an integral role in the success of the University, ensuring the national provision of technology solutions that enable Learning & Teaching, Research, and Administration across our University.

About the role

This role plays a key part in shaping and delivering the University's digital transformation agenda. You will work across multiple portfolios, translating business needs into practical technology solutions, while driving consistency in business analysis practices and contributing to improved delivery outcomes across the IT portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate discovery and requirements elicitation with stakeholders across academic and professional areas.
  • Translate business needs into clear, structured artefacts (process maps, user stories, functional specifications).
  • Act as a liaison across university stakeholders to ensure technology requirements are clearly understood and system capability gaps are identified, assessed, and documented.
  • Contribute to project planning and delivery activities in partnership with Project Managers.
  • Identify and evaluate process inefficiencies, recommending optimal business practices while serving as a central reference point for system project decision-making.
  • Maintain traceability of requirements through to delivery and implementation.
  • Take accountability for deploying functional solutions, including the creation and execution of system and UAT test plans to ensure quality and system integrity.
  • Develop clear functional and business process specifications to support system developers in solution delivery.
Qualifications, skills & experience
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent experience with broad exposure to diverse technical environments.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst delivering technology initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, with demonstrated capability to drive business process improvement and implement change initiatives.
  • Experience across the full delivery lifecycle, including requirements gathering, UAT coordination, training, and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and key business stakeholders.
