Job Description

Job Title: Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Job Type: Contract (Long Term)

Job Overview

 

Our client is seeking a Senior Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer to join their growing data team in Phoenix, AZ. This is a long-term contract engagement where you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform. You will also provide technical leadership to a small offshore engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

 
  • Design and develop data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform services including Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and Airflow (DAGs)
  • Perform data ingestion, preparation, and reporting to support business intelligence and analytics needs
  • Coordinate and provide technical leadership to X–X offshore engineers
  • Write and optimise complex SQL queries for data processing and reporting
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions

Required Skills

 
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
  • Proficiency with Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Pub/Sub, and Apache Airflow (DAGs)
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Solid background in Data Engineering — ingestion, preparation, and reporting
  • Experience coordinating or leading offshore engineering teams

Preferred Skills

 
  • Experience with additional Google Cloud Platform data services
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and BI reporting tools
