Job Description
The I&C Engineer II is responsible for supporting the design, specification, procurement, and documentation of instrumentation and control systems for large frame gas turbines and associated balance-of-plant systems. This role focuses on execution, technical accuracy, and collaboration across project teams.
Key Responsibilities
· Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
· Review customer contract requirements and support instrumentation scope definition
· Develop and maintain instrumentation procurement schedules
· Prepare technical specifications and Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
· Review and validate vendor quotations for compliance
· Verify instrumentation against P&IDs and develop instrument indexes/lists
· Create and maintain instrument loops, datasheets, and associated drawings
· Provide design input documentation required for I/O list development
· Support resolution of customer comments on drawings and documentation
· Collaborate with internal teams (design, operations, procurement, sales)
· Interface with clients, suppliers, and contractors to support project execution
· Support development and maintenance of I&C procedures and checklists
· Assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving at project sites
· Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ISA, ANSI/NEMA, NFPA, AGA, etc.)
· Support vendor qualification activities as needed
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
· Typically 3–6 years of relevant I&C experience in power generation or similar industries
· Working knowledge of gas turbine and balance-of-plant instrumentation
· Familiarity with control systems such as: Netmation, MK5/MK6, T3000, Ovation, DeltaV, SIMATIC, etc.
· Experience with SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) or similar tools preferred
· Understanding of instrumentation devices (pressure, temperature, level, flow, vibration, valves, etc.)
· Basic understanding of I/O systems, wiring, and signal interfaces
· Ability to interpret technical standards and apply them to designs
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· Willingness to travel up to 5-10%
