Position Overview:

Seeking an experienced Senior Ansible Automation Platform Architect and Engineer to lead the design, deployment, migration, modernization, and ongoing evolution of enterprise automation capabilities. This role will be responsible for architecting highly available Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform environments, migrating existing cloud based deployments to on premises infrastructure, advancing automation governance, and establishing enterprise standards for scalable automation adoption.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and configure enterprise scale Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform environments in highly available configurations.
• Implement platform infrastructure using Configuration as Code methodologies to support repeatable and automated deployments.
• Collaborate with server, virtualization, storage, networking, and security teams to integrate automation services into enterprise infrastructure.
• Establish platform architecture standards, operational procedures, backup and recovery processes, lifecycle management strategies, and governance frameworks.
• Configure and optimize Automation Controller, Automation Hub, Private Automation Hub, Execution Environments, Event Driven Ansible components, RBAC controls, and identity provider integrations.
• Develop automation capabilities that support future platform expansion and consistent environment provisioning.
• Lead migration efforts from Azure based Ansible Automation Platform environments to on premises deployments.
• Assess and inventory existing automation assets, job templates, workflows, credentials, inventories, execution environments, and integrations.
• Develop and execute migration runbooks designed to minimize operational disruption.
• Analyze CloudBolt automation workflows and translate functionality into Ansible native automation solutions.
• Modernize automation practices through reusable playbooks, roles, collections, and execution environments.
• Consolidate automation capabilities into a centralized enterprise automation platform where appropriate.
• Design and implement Private Automation Hub content management capabilities.
• Establish governance processes for certified collections, content promotion, version control, lifecycle management, security validation, and compliance controls.
• Create processes that support validated automation content in restricted network or disconnected environments.
• Develop and maintain enterprise automation content using Ansible best practices.
• Build automation solutions for server provisioning, operating system configuration management, patch management, middleware deployment, application deployment, compliance remediation, and infrastructure operations.
• Promote Infrastructure as Code and GitOps practices across engineering teams.
• Create and maintain CI and CD pipelines that support automation content testing, validation, and promotion.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience designing and deploying Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform within large enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise with Automation Controller, Automation Hub, Private Automation Hub, Execution Environments, and enterprise automation architecture.
• Experience implementing highly available platform deployments and operational support models.
• Proven experience with Configuration as Code, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps methodologies.
• Strong understanding of identity management integrations including LDAP, Active Directory, and SAML.
• Experience leading cloud to on premises platform migrations.
• Strong knowledge of automation governance, content lifecycle management, and enterprise operational standards.
• Experience developing Ansible playbooks, roles, collections, and reusable automation frameworks.
• Experience with CI and CD pipeline development and automation testing practices.
• Ability to work cross functionally with infrastructure, security, operations, and engineering organizations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with CloudBolt automation environments is preferred.
