Torch Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Entry/Junior Level Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in C# and WPF, demonstrating extensive experience in building robust and scalable desktop applications.

This role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions, with a focus on user interface development and data handling. Experience with utilizing National Instruments APIs to control and interact with test equipment, is highly desirable As an Entry/Junior Level Software Engineer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications using C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, and Blazor.
  • Provide software updates, bug fixes, and new features with an emphasis on performance, maintainability, and current software development best practices.
  • Collaborate with product owners, Scrum masters, testers, and other engineers to define, prioritize, and deliver software features.
  • Analyze, document, and implement interfaces with commercial APIs to execute automated tests against hardware.
  • Design and develop user interfaces and data-handling functionality.
  • Manage and update assigned work items within an Agile software development process.
  • Contribute to configuration management and accurate tracking of assigned work items.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 0+ years of applicable software engineering experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Strong proficiency in C# and .NET Core.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with C# and WPF, particularly in developing desktop applications.
  • Demonstrated ability in architectural design with a focus on maintainability and scalability.
  • Experience with Entity Framework Core for data access, including designing models, configuring DbContexts, and implementing LINQ-based queries.
  • Experience developing modern, interactive web applications using Blazor and the ASP.NET Core ecosystem.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable service-based architectures utilizing gRPC, named pipes, or comparable communication protocols.
  • Experience utilizing National Instruments APIs to control and interact with test equipment.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Azure DevOps or Git and the Visual Studio IDE.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum.

Schedule: M-F; 8-5
