Audit Readiness Accountant - Active Secret Clearance Required

Take2 Consulting is hiring Audit Readiness Accountants to support Department of the Air Force (DAF) financial management and audit readiness initiatives. This role focuses on the valuation, accounting, reporting, and auditability of mission-critical assets, with opportunities aligned to either Operating Materials & Supplies (OM&S) or Property, Plant & Equipment (PP&E) audit readiness.

What You'll Do:

OM&S Focus

• Prepare and support Operating Materials & Supplies (OM&S) valuation models and supporting documentation in accordance with SFFAS 3 and SFFAS 48
• Perform reconciliations, data validation, and variance analysis across financial and logistics systems
• Execute substantive testing in accordance with the Federal Financial Audit Manual (FAM)
• Conduct risk assessments to identify process deficiencies and internal control gaps
• Coordinate with stakeholders to obtain supporting documentation and resolve financial reporting discrepancies

PP&E Focus

• Support audit readiness efforts related to Property, Plant & Equipment (PP&E) and mission-critical assets
• Perform reconciliations, data validation, and root-cause analysis across financial and logistics systems
• Apply federal accounting standards, including SFFAS 6 and SFFAS 50, to asset valuation and reporting activities
• Review and validate Key Supporting Documentation (KSD) to ensure audit compliance and traceability
• Support APSR reconciliations, annual attestations, and audit deliverables
• Maintain valuation models and support preparation of financial analyses, journal vouchers, and reporting packages

What You'll Need

• Active Secret Clearance (required)
• Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, financial management, audit readiness, audit remediation, or federal audit support
• Experience supporting federal government or Department of Defense financial operations
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience working with large datasets, reconciliations, and financial analysis
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Nice to Have

• Department of Defense or Air Force financial management experience
• Experience with OM&S, PP&E, asset accounting, or federal financial statement audits
• Knowledge of federal accounting standards (SFFAS)
• Experience with Power Query, SQL, Python, or similar analytical tools
• CPA, CGFM, CDFM, or related professional certification

Interested candidates should be comfortable working onsite 3-4 days per week at Joint Base Andrews, MD and able to support a clearance transfer/VAR process as part of onboarding.
