Mechanical Design Engineer

We’re hiring for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a mechanical engineering business based in Stretford, Manchester.<br />In this role, you’ll be designing bespoke components for the repair of water authority equipment, working closely with suppliers and the shopfloor to produce practical design solutions.<br />What’s on offer?

• £44,000 - £48,000 per annum
• Mon - Fri | 7:30am – 4pm
• Early finish on Fridays
• 22 days holiday plus bank holidays
• Standard pension<br />What will you be doing as a Mechanical Design Engineer?
• Designing components for the repair of water authority equipment
• Measuring existing parts to create new replacement components
• Producing designs using SolidWorks
• Using AutoCAD when required
• Creating designs for laser cutting and folding
• Working on bespoke design projects
• Requesting and reviewing quotes from suppliers
• Liaising with the shopfloor throughout the design and manufacturing process<br />What will you need?
• Previous experience as a designing mechanical components for repairs
• SolidWorks experience
• Confidence working on bespoke design projects
• Ability to communicate with suppliers and shopfloor teams
• AutoCAD experience (not essential)
