Job Description Senior Java Platform Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Platform Engineer with strong expertise in modern Java technologies, platform engineering, distributed systems, and cloud-native application development. The ideal candidate will have experience building enterprise-scale frameworks, APIs, and event-driven solutions while driving engineering standards and platform capabilities across teams.

Required Skills & Experience
* Strong hands-on experience with Java 17/21+ and Spring Boot (3.x preferred).
* Proven experience building shared frameworks, platform services, and reusable enterprise components, beyond traditional application development.
* Strong expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs and implementing OpenAPI specifications.
* Experience building and supporting event-driven architectures using Kafka.
* Deep understanding of distributed systems and related design patterns, including: Resilience engineering
* Retry mechanisms
* Circuit breaker implementation
* Fault tolerance and high availability

* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design scalable, maintainable, and high-performance solutions.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
* Experience integrating with legacy enterprise systems, including: z/OS
* Mainframe environments
* CIS platforms

* Hands-on experience with Redis, Kafka, and Oracle in high-volume production environments.
* Strong understanding of modern security practices, including: OAuth 2.0
* OpenID Connect (OIDC)
* Secrets management

* Familiarity with observability and monitoring platforms such as: Splunk
* Dynatrace
* Prometheus
* Grafana

* Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and standardized build frameworks using: Gradle
* Jenkins
* GitLab

* Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies: Kubernetes
* OpenShift

* Experience working with cloud platforms, with Microsoft Azure preferred.
