Job Description

Senior Cloud Engineer (10+ Years Experience)

Employment Type: Full-time(Contract W2 only)

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable, cost-efficient cloud infrastructure. You’ll set technical direction for our cloud platform, lead complex migrations and architecture decisions, and mentor engineers across teams. This is a hands-on role with significant ownership and influence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement cloud solutions on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (multi-cloud experience is a plus) that meet requirements for availability, performance, security, and cost
  • Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or Bicep
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows
  • Lead cloud migrations, including re-hosting, re-platforming, and modernization of legacy workloads
  • Manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE) and Docker
  • Implement observability (monitoring, logging, alerting, tracing) and define SLOs/SLIs
  • Drive security best practices: IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, encryption, and compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS as applicable)
  • Own FinOps practices: cost monitoring, rightsizing, reserved capacity, and budget governance
  • Plan and test disaster recovery, backup, and high-availability strategies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production incidents; lead post-incident reviews
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and contribute to architecture reviews and technical standards
  • Partner with development, security, data, and product teams to deliver reliable platforms

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years in infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, or systems engineering, with at least 5+ years designing production cloud environments
  • Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) across compute, networking, storage, databases, and identity
  • Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
  • Proven experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration at scale
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming (Python, Go, Bash, or PowerShell)
  • Solid understanding of networking (VPC/VNet, DNS, load balancing, VPN, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute) and Linux/Windows administration
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, ArgoCD)
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security, IAM, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, Splunk, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or CKA/CKAD
  • Experience with serverless architectures, event-driven systems, and service mesh
  • Background in large-scale migrations or hybrid cloud environments
  • Experience with FinOps, policy-as-code (OPA, Sentinel), or platform engineering
  • Exposure to data platforms, ML infrastructure, or edge computing
  • Experience leading technical teams or acting as a tech lead/architect
