Job Description

QA/ Application Migration Testing

Long Term

Remote

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Planning

• Develop and execute test strategies for wave-based application and infrastructure migrations, covering functional, integration, performance, and security validation.

• Define wave-specific exit criteria and go/no-go readiness checklists in partnership with the migration and security teams.

• Prioritize test coverage across a portfolio of ~40 applications based on risk, criticality, and interdependencies.

Migration & Cutover Testing

• Validate application functionality, data integrity, and performance parity between legacy DC and Azure environments.

• Support dual-run/parallel environment validation during transition periods.

• Execute cutover validation testing within defined migration windows, including rollback scenario testing.

• Test cross-wave integration points where dependent applications migrate in different waves.

Infrastructure & Security Testing

• Support validation testing for infrastructure workstreams including network/firewall migration (Palo Alto → Azure Firewall), privileged access management (CyberArk), SIEM migration (Splunk → Microsoft Sentinel), and data security (Varonis).

• Verify security control equivalence and detection coverage post-migration.

• Validate compliance-related data handling (PHI) is preserved through migration, per HIPAA/HITRUST requirements.

Defect Management

• Identify, log, triage, and track defects through resolution using the program’s defect management process.

• Assess defect severity and business impact to support go/no-go decisions ahead of cutover dates.

• Escalate critical/blocking issues promptly to the QA lead and migration program management.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain test plans, test cases, and execution evidence suitable for audit and compliance review.

• Document test results and readiness assessments for governance and stakeholder reporting.

Collaboration & Reporting

• Work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams (not just development teams) throughout the test lifecycle.

• Provide regular test status, risk, and readiness updates to the QA lead and program governance forums.

• Support test data management practices in line with data security and privacy requirements.
