Gas Trader - Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Our client is seeking an experienced Gas Trader to join their high-performing team in Amsterdam. This is a permanent role within a flat, collaborative structure, offering the opportunity to run your own book and contribute directly to strategy and performance across the European gas markets. You will play a key role in driving trading decisions, working closely with other members of our client's team to optimise commercial outcomes in both physical and derivative gas products.

Key Skills & Experience

• Spot Gas Trading - Proven experience trading spot gas, identifying short-term opportunities and managing prompt risk.
• Physical & Derivative Products - Hands-on exposure to both physical gas flows and derivative instruments, enabling integrated position management.
• Deep Market Understanding - Ability to interpret complex fundamental and market data to generate profitable trading ideas.
• Algorithmic Trading - Experience with or strong appreciation for algorithmic / systematic trading approaches and tools.
• Running a Book - Track record of managing a trading book with clear P&L responsibility and disciplined risk management.
• Market Making - Market-making experience is highly advisable, particularly in relevant gas or commodities products.
• Collaborative Team Player - Comfortable operating in a flat structure, sharing insights and working closely with our client's team.
