About the Opportunity
A well-established lower middle market private capital firm is seeking a Private Credit Senior Analyst to join its growing investment team. The firm partners with privately held businesses across the Southeast and provides flexible capital solutions to support growth, acquisitions, recapitalizations, and other strategic initiatives.
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, entrepreneurial platform where investment professionals gain meaningful exposure to all aspects of the investment lifecycle. The role offers direct interaction with management teams, private equity sponsors, lenders, and senior investment professionals while providing significant responsibility from day one.
Responsibilities
Investment Analysis & Underwriting
- Evaluate new debt investment opportunities across a variety of industries.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, including credit analyses, cash flow forecasting, leverage assessments, and downside case scenarios.
- Conduct financial, operational, industry, and management due diligence.
- Assist in preparing investment memoranda and underwriting materials for internal approval processes.
- Support deal execution, documentation review, and transaction closing activities.
Portfolio Management
- Monitor portfolio company performance through financial statement analysis and covenant tracking.
- Assist in preparing quarterly portfolio reviews and valuation assessments.
- Identify developing risks and recommend appropriate actions.
- Maintain ongoing communication with management teams, lenders, and sponsors.
Market Research & Business Development Support
- Analyze industry trends, competitive dynamics, and macroeconomic factors impacting investment opportunities.
- Support investment professionals with origination efforts and deal sourcing initiatives.
- Develop sector-focused research and investment theses.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance, commercial banking, corporate banking, restructuring, or investment banking.
- Strong financial modeling, accounting, and credit underwriting skills.
- Experience analyzing middle-market companies and leveraged capital structures.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- CFA designation or progress toward CFA is a plus.
