Job Description

Port Erie Plastics is a long-established, growing, family-owned plastics manufacturer, located in Harborcreek, PA. On behalf of our client, Decision Associates is seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to lead the company's finance function.

As a key member of the leadership team at Port Erie Plastics, the Controller will serve as the company's senior financial executive, functioning as a true strategic partner to executive leadership while maintaining oversight of all accounting and finance operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all core accounting operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with US GAAP standards and manage the external audit process.
  • Oversee cost accounting processes, including standard costing methodology, bill-of-materials integrity, and advanced variance analysis to support production decision-making and margin management.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce internal financial controls and accounting policies.
  • Develop an annual budgeting process and long-range financial planning.
  • Manage and optimize the company's ERP system (Dassault IQMS).
  • Deliver timely, accurate, and actionable financial reporting to the President and leadership team.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a team of five accounting and IT professionals.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and treasury functions.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Accounting Principles Generally Accepted in the United States (US GAAP)
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
  • Background in inventory-driven manufacturing environments strongly preferred — plastics manufacturing is ideal; general manufacturing, construction/building materials, or healthcare supply chain experience also valued
  • Experience with cost accounting, standard costing methodologies, and ERP-driven financial environments
  • Experience with ERP systems; Dassault IQMS ERP is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Familiarity with relational databases and the ability to extract, validate, and interpret data at scale
  • Proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite
