MFC seeks an Engineering & Technology (E&T) Manager to lead and grow a software-engineering team, support department and directorate initiatives, and drive technical excellence, affordability, and program execution.
In this role you'll join a large network of software professionals, applying cutting-edge technologies to existing and new platforms that address challenges in aircraft flight command & control, air-traffic control, health care, and homeland defense. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop team members; assign work, provide continual feedback, and advocate for career opportunities.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute software-development activities.
- Manage recruitment, selection, training, performance assessments, salary planning, recognition/disciplinary actions, and competency development.
- Support program development, ensure compliance with engineering processes, maintain customer focus, and serve as the technical conscience for programs.

This position is onsite in Grand Prairie, Texas, with a flexible work schedule and a full benefits package (learn more here ). Further information: the role is based in Dallas, Texas. #mfcnews #MFCcareers Manages the design, development, operation, and maintenance of software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with engineering, scientific, and manufacturing requirements. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
Oversees the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems, airplane flight control and display systems, avionics, mechanical and electrical systems, weapons armament, commercial and military aircraft systems, mobile and ground-based defense systems, space systems, and other systems and applications of this nature. Insures the interface with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel.
Basic Qualifications • Must currently hold an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this position • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science. Other related degree field with significant software development experience • Experience with embedded development using a real-time operating system • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical embedded software systems/programs • Process Improvement and Affordability experience • Software engineering Management or Software engineering Team Lead experience including task planning, budget management, subcontract management and/or employee development and mentoring
Desired Skills • Strong software architecture and design experience. • C/C++/Ada experience • Linux/VxWorks experience • DevSecOps experience (CI/CD, Git/Gitlab) • Agile development (Scrum/Kanban) • Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams • Basis of Estimate (BOE) development • Control Account Manager (CAM) experience • In addition to meeting security clearance requirements, candidate may need to be approved to work Special Access Program (SAP) prior to start of employment • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience including Agile EVMS • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Prior Engineering Management • Proposal Development • Strong business acumen, management influence and whole systems thinking • Strong interpersonal skills Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $120600.00 - $224000.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
