Principle React Developer

·        Reports to the Engineering Manager. 

·        Works with Eng Mgr. & Architect at high level.

·        Must be able to understand and collaborate at high level to execute

·        Location: Andover, MA (north of Boston)

·        Must be onsite 2-3 days per week to collaborate with manager and architect

·        Duration: One year. Right to hire if the employee performs well.

Duties in Short:

·        Frontend Technical Lead to guide the architecture, development, and delivery of modern web applications and digital platforms.

·        The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership to deliver secure, scalable, accessible, and high-performing user experiences.

·        The successful candidate will provide technical direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product Owners, UX teams, architects, backend engineers, and DevOps teams across our global organization.

·        Sr React Developer that can stand alone with no support and take direction from senior engineer and senior architect and intimately know how to accomplish the needed work.

·        The role is tied to a new platform and installing a portal for internal engagement and use by the company business units.

Key Responsibilities

·        Lead frontend architecture and development using ReactJS and TypeScript.

·        Define engineering standards, reusable patterns, code quality practices, and technical guardrails.

·        Partner with UX designers to deliver intuitive, responsive, and accessible experiences using Figma and shared design systems.

·        Integrate applications with REST and GraphQL APIs, including Node.js backend-for-frontend services where appropriate.

·        Drive CI/CD, automated testing, observability, performance, security, and production reliability.

·        Resolve complex technical issues and proactively manage technical debt.

·        Mentor engineers through technical coaching, architecture reviews, and code reviews.

·        Collaborate with global product, architecture, platform, and business teams to deliver enterprise digital solutions.

Required Qualifications

·        Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

·        8+ years of software development experience, including experience as a Technical Lead or senior technical contributor.

·        Advanced expertise in ReactJS, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, component architecture, and state management.

·        Experience delivering enterprise-scale web applications with strong knowledge of performance, scalability, accessibility, and secure development.

·        Experience integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs; working knowledge of Node.js is preferred.

·        Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Git, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.

·        Ability to influence technical decisions, communicate clearly, and lead across teams in an Agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications

·        Experience with Next.js, micro-frontends, monorepos, design systems, or reusable component libraries.

·        Experience with Azure, Azure DevOps, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Docker, or Kubernetes.

·        Strong product mindset and ability to balance user experience, technical quality, business value, and delivery speed.
