Deficiencies Inside Sales Representative

Role Overview

In this role, you will sell repair work identified during contracted fire and life safety system inspections. Success comes from preparing accurate proposals, following up consistently, earning customer commitment over the phone, and keeping deficiency activity moving toward close while delivering a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare proposals for repair work identified during contracted fire and life safety system inspections.
  • Follow up on delivered quotes and work to gain customer commitment over the phone.
  • Communicate promptly and regularly with customers regarding systems integrity issues, recommendations, and quoted solutions.
  • Develop and maintain positive ongoing relationships with customers.
  • Maintain and update an inspection deficiency tracking system on a daily basis.
  • Report progress, activity, and metrics to management on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Deliver sales results against an assigned quota.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact within the district office for customers with identified systems integrity issues.
  • Partner with other sales representatives when quoting and selling system repairs requires additional support.
  • Work closely with the service department to support delivery and improved service repairs.

How You Will Do It

  • Own every quote with accountability, safety, and integrity, making sure customers receive clear and dependable follow-through.
  • Stay close to the work by responding quickly to deficiency findings, keeping communication timely, and removing obstacles that slow customer decisions.
  • Use Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, along with web-based programs and the inspection deficiency tracking system to keep records accurate and current.
  • Improve every day through disciplined follow-up, candid problem-solving, and consistent review of what is helping quotes move to close.
  • Win as one team by sharing information with service, inspection, and sales colleagues and building trust across the district.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Word, and web-based programs.
  • Highly motivated and success-driven.
  • Ability to complete a defined training program upon being awarded the position.
  • Ability to successfully close sales while maintaining a positive customer experience.
  • Good computer skills and a process-oriented, energetic approach to work.

Nice to Have

  • Fire Alarm or Sprinkler Industry experience.
  • Administrative experience.
  • High customer phone call background with an emphasis on telephone prospecting.
  • Mechanical or electrical field service experience.
  • Three years of inside sales experience and customer service background.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $22.34 - $32.80 + Commission (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
