Data Analyst – Retail/Inventory

Top Consulting is seeking a Data Analyst with retail industry experience to analyze inventory, SKU, sales, and operational data to support our clients’ decisions and improve inventory performance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and hands-on experience working with large retail datasets, including SKU-level inventory and sales information.

Responsibilities:

o   Analyze inventory, sales, SKU, product, and replenishment data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities.

o   Monitor SKU-level inventory performance, including inventory levels, turnover, stockouts, excess inventory, and product availability.

o   Develop and maintain reports and dashboards that provide visibility into inventory and retail performance.

o   Analyze sales trends, product performance, demand patterns, and inventory movement.

o   Identify discrepancies between inventory records, sales data, and physical inventory.

o   Support inventory forecasting, replenishment, and allocation analysis.

o   Perform ad hoc analysis to support merchandising, supply chain, purchasing, and operations teams.

o   Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.

o   Clean, validate, and reconcile data from multiple sources.

o   Develop KPIs and metrics to measure inventory and SKU performance.

o   Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, reduce excess/obsolete inventory, and minimize stockouts.

o   Present findings and recommendations to business and leadership teams.

Qualifications:

o   3-5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst

o   Retail industry a must.

o   Hands-on experience analyzing inventory and SKU-level data.

o   Strong SQL skills for querying and analyzing large datasets.

o   Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis.

o   Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

o   Ability to communicate complex data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

o   Preferred experience with retail ERP, POS, inventory management, or supply chain systems.

o   Preferred experience with inventory forecasting or demand planning.

o   Preferred experience working with large product catalogs and SKU hierarchies.
