Job Description

Managing Director, Professional Services (Open Application)

Business Unit Leader | United States

About Infinity Constellation

Professional services firms have historically grown by adding headcount: more analysts, associates, and support staff to serve more clients. Infinity Constellation is built on a different thesis. A small team, led by an outstanding credentialed practitioner and paired with an AI backbone that handles everything else, can now do what used to take dozens of people.

We are building independent, high-margin business units (BUs) inside a single company. Each unit is built around a core practitioner and supported by Infinity's technology platform and our engineering and product teams, which take over HR, accounting, finance, and data-processing work. The practitioner keeps selling the same service, to the same buyers, at the same or better quality, but serves far more clients per person.

Our first business units are in forensic accounting, environmental consulting, and pension and retirement plan actuarial work. This posting is for practitioners in every niche we have not posted yet.

The Opportunity

We are looking for Managing Directors (titles flex by field: Managing Director, General Manager, Principal) to lead new business units in credentialed professional services. If you are a practitioner with a book of business or the relationships to build one, and you believe your practice could carry far more work with the right backbone behind it, we want you to pitch us: your discipline, your buyers, and why you are the person to rebuild the practice inside Infinity.

This is an entrepreneurial role with real upside. You keep selling the service you already sell, to the buyers you already know, and Infinity builds the tooling and takes over the back office so your week goes to judgment, clients, and growth.

What a Good Fit Looks Like

We apply the same filters to every niche. Your practice should look like this:

  • Credential-gated: The work requires a license, designation, or professional sign-off, so quality and trust matter more than price.

  • Regulatory or recurring demand: Clients need the work because of a rule, a filing, a transaction, or a dispute, not because the economy is good.

  • Sold B2B at meaningful contract values: Clients already spend more than $25,000 a year per engagement with outside vendors.

  • Not crowded with venture-backed competitors: The field still runs on boutiques, regional firms, and manual work.

  • US-based: Our business units currently serve US clients only.

Who You Are

  • A credentialed practitioner: Deep, hands-on experience delivering the service, with the standing that clients, courts, regulators, or auditors require.

  • Senior practitioner or already independent: Either a senior non-partner deep in delivering the service today and ready to build a practice with real upside, or a practitioner who has already gone independent and wants to be super-powered by Infinity: the backbone, tooling, and capital to carry far more work without rebuilding a firm around yourself.

  • A portable book, or a real network: Clients or referral sources who will follow you, or the relationships to build that book quickly.

  • A point of view on automation: You know which parts of your week do not require your judgment (data entry, document review, report assembly, routine filings) and which should move to an AI-driven workflow first.

  • Entrepreneurial: Energized by rebuilding the firm itself rather than building software to sell to existing firms, and comfortable building from a small team.

What You Will Do

  • Run the business unit: Strategy, client relationships, quality, and financial performance for your practice.

  • Originate and grow the book: Bring your relationships to Infinity and expand them.

  • Deliver and sign off on the work: Put your name behind the work product, with Infinity's tooling handling what does not need your judgment.

  • Direct the tooling: Work with Infinity's engineering and product teams to define what automation should do for your practice.

  • Build the team: Hire supporting staff as the book grows, keeping the team deliberately lean. Where helpful, we pair leaders with a senior advisor from the field to support go-to-market.

How to Apply: Pitch Us

Alongside your resume, send a short pitch (a page or a few paragraphs is plenty) covering:

  • Your discipline and credential: What you do, who signs off, and what it takes to be allowed to do it.

  • Your buyers and how they buy: Who hires you, what a typical engagement is worth, and how often they come back.

  • Your book: How much of your current work would follow you, and why.

  • The manual work: Where your time goes today that does not require your judgment, and what you would hand to a backbone first.

  • Why now: What is slow or frustrating about how your current firm, or your own practice, operates.

We review every pitch. If your niche fits our filters and you fit the profile, we will get on the phone within two weeks.

Compensation

Compensation follows the same structure across all Infinity business units:

  • Market base salary

  • Uncapped variable compensation tied to revenue generated

  • An equity grant in Infinity

Why Infinity

  • Real upside: build and lead a business unit with compensation tied directly to your results, including uncapped variable pay and an equity grant in Infinity.

  • A shared backbone: HR, accounting, finance, and data-processing work handled by Infinity's platform and teams, so your time goes to clients and judgment.

  • Tools built for your practice: engineering and product resources dedicated to the problems that cost you time today.

  • A growing network: as Infinity scales its portfolio of business units, you'll be part of a larger network of practices serving overlapping clients.
