Network Engineer with Security Clearance

Position Description: We’re hiring for a Network Engineer III to work in Albuquerque, NM in support of the US Air Force Space Mission. Our network team makes sure satellites can communicate with their ground systems and are responsible for monitoring and support of network infrastructure (Cisco routers and switches, Palo Alto firewalls, SolarWinds, and Identity Services Engine (ISE) authentication) and virtual server environments (private cloud via VMWare Cloud Foundation, servers, storage area networks, and VMware).

You should be able to troubleshoot, install, implement and administer network systems. You will also support the cybersecurity team to remediate deficiencies. We need experts who can determine what needs to be done and go off and do it but also work successfully as part of a team.

Work Location: Kirtland Air Force Base Pay and Benefits: Up to $52/hr

Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze network characteristics such as traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput
Assist more senior network engineers with the installation, removal and modifications to network components
Configure, deploy, upgrade, and troubleshoot multivendor switches, routers, firewalls, and peripheral equipment in operational and test lab environments
Operate or administer Linux and Unix systems
Provide occasional after-hours operational support for network issues
Apply your knowledge of enterprise system monitoring and management tools (Solar Winds, WireShark, iPerf, etc.) to analyze network activity and problems
Develop and maintain network topologies, diagrams and IP tracking Requirements A Bachelor’s degree in science and technology related discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, and Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university with 5+ years of experience; Mater's degree and 3+ years of experience.

Four years of experience will be accepted in lieu of education. Must possess IAT level II baseline certification such as a CompTIA Security+
Strong background in Microsoft Office tools and Visio Record of success in contributing to the completion of programs and projects; ability to obtain results and make key recommendations Knowledge of communication protocols specifically routing protocols like BGP, OSPF as well as TCP/IP
Sound knowledge of network security and control models
Experience with Network Security Technologies (e.g.

Multiple Domain, PKI, SSP, Vulnerability Assessment)
Record of success in contributing to the completion of programs and projects; ability to obtain results and make key recommendations.

Good understanding of discipline process, information and data management, configuration control
Seasoned communicator with demonstrated record of success in leadership, followership, and working with contract representatives and government sponsors
Ability to provide high-level summary of results and draw conclusions based on interpretation of data DoD Security: Position is only open to US Citizens
