Working closely with the wider Engineering and Production teams, you will be responsible for developing manufacturing solutions, improving production efficiency and ensuring consistently high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide engineering solutions through online and offline CNC programming using customer drawings and 3D models.
  • Programme, set and prove out new products on 3, 4 and 5-axis machining centres and lathes.
  • Develop manufacturing process plans, production routings and associated documentation.
  • Produce detailed set-up sheets, tooling requirements, fixture specifications and inspection documentation.
  • Review existing CNC programmes and manufacturing methods, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability.
  • Investigate manufacturing issues, identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Produce 2D engineering drawings and 3D models to support manufacturing operations.
  • Design and develop fixtures to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production and Quality teams to ensure successful product manufacture.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, drawings, tooling information and technical documentation.
  • Support and share technical knowledge with colleagues, including training others where required.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience within a manufacturing engineering environment.
  • Strong CNC programming, setting and operating experience across 3, 4 and 5-axis machinery.
  • Experience with milling and mill-turn machining processes.
  • Knowledge of CNC controls such as Mazak, Fanuc or Heidenhain.
  • Experience using CAD/CAM software, ideally Mastercam.
  • The ability to create CNC programmes, solid and surface models, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience working with a wide range of materials and tight manufacturing tolerances.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • The ability to interpret and produce engineering drawings to recognised industry standards.
