Job Description

Oberarzt (m/w/d) Gastroenterologie | Heide, Germany | On-site

We are seeking an experienced physician for a leading medical center renowned for its cutting-edge treatments and comprehensive patient care within a national healthcare network. This facility serves as a key provider in its region, offering a wide range of specialties and fostering a strong commitment to medical education and innovation.

The Role

  • Provide comprehensive medical care for inpatient and outpatient patients across the full spectrum of gastroenterology and internal medicine.
  • Independently perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy, and supervise procedures like ERCP and endosonography.
  • Share responsibility for ward management, conduct rounds, manage treatment cases, and ensure interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Supervise resident physicians and actively engage in medical training and education.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments within internal medicine, as well as surgical, radiological, and other specialist areas.
  • Participate in the development of medical concepts, clinical pathways, quality standards, and be part of the on-call and backup duty roster.

What You'll Need

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine; additional specialization in Gastroenterology or Diabetology is advantageous.
  • Solid experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, with basic knowledge or willingness to train in endosonography and ERCP.
  • Proficiency with clinical information systems (KIS) for documentation, performance management, and coding.
  • Structured, independent, and responsible work approach with strong decision-making and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills in interdisciplinary and multiprofessional settings.
  • Interest in conceptual development of medical processes, quality assurance, and medical education.
