ABOUT THE ROLE
Join the AMI Operations team of a Fortune 500 utility company supporting one of the largest Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) deployments in the country. As an AMI Systems Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring smart meters are communicating properly, data is flowing accurately, and operational issues are resolved quickly. This hybrid role, based in Westwood, MA, serves as a key liaison between operations, deployment, billing, vendor support, and technology teams. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Monitor AMI networks and systems to identify meters not communicating properly
- Investigate communication failures, meter exceptions, and network-related issues to determine root cause and resolution
- Troubleshoot unreachable meters using AMI Head-End System, Meter Data Management System, and supporting utility applications
- Coordinate with deployment, billing, operations, and vendor teams to resolve meter communication and usage data issues
- Create and manage service orders for meter investigations, reads, exchanges, and field troubleshooting
- Analyze meter events, alarms, voltage readings, and operational data to identify trends and anomalies
- Track issues from meter installations and support remediation for incorrect installations or reconfigurations
- Generate reports on exception trends, meter performance, and resolution status
- Maintain detailed documentation and provide updates to stakeholders throughout issue resolution
- Support AMI system upgrades, testing activities, and process improvement initiatives
- Develop recommendations to improve data quality, system performance, and operational efficiency
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (preferred)
- 2-3 years of experience with data analysis, reporting, or utility technology systems
- Experience working with SQL and querying large datasets
- Strong proficiency in Excel and reporting tools
- Experience working cross-functionally with multiple teams and stakeholders
- Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
- Experience with Databricks, SQL, Power BI, SAP S/4HANA, or similar enterprise platforms
- Familiarity with Customer Information Systems (CIS), AMI Head-End Systems, or Meter Data Management Systems (preferred)
- Experience supporting utility operations, AMI programs, smart metering, or energy-related technologies (preferred)
