Quick Overview
Job Description
Tenstorrent is leading the industry on cutting-edge AI technology, revolutionizing performance expectations, ease of use, and cost efficiency. With AI redefining the computing paradigm, solutions must evolve to unify innovations in software models, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors. Our diverse team of technologists have developed a high performance RISC-V CPU from scratch, and share a passion for AI and a deep desire to build the best AI platform possible. We value collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to solving hard problems. We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.
We are looking for a Director of Supply Chain Management to build and lead the operating infrastructure required to bring our products to market, scale them globally, and support them throughout their lifecycle. This role sits within the Supply Chain organization and reports to the Sr. Director, Operations & Strategic Partnerships. This role has high exposure to CEO level decisions and engagement and demonstrated leadership experience is a requirement.
This is a builder role within the Supply Chain. You will own the Supply Chain deliverables covering our cross functional go to market and customer engagement. This includes driving product certifications and market readiness, enhancing RMA and customer satisfaction processes, as well as driving our Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. Your job is to establish clear ownership, build scalable processes, develop the team, and create the operating mechanisms required to support a rapidly growing hardware business, working in close partnership with the other functions needed to achieve these goals.
We are not looking for someone to administer existing processes. We are looking for someone who sees ambiguity, creates structure, drives decisions, and most importantly takes end-to-end ownership. Your mandate is simple: build it, own it, and scale it.
This role is hybrid, based out of Toronto, ON; Austin, TX; or Santa Clara, CA.
We welcome candidates at various experience levels for this role. During the interview process, candidates will be assessed for the appropriate level, and offers will align with that level, which may differ from the one in this posting.
Who You Are
- A builder who is comfortable entering an environment where processes and ownership are not fully defined, then turning ambiguity into a clear operating model and an executable plan.
- An experienced hardware and supply chain operator who understands how Engineering, Product, Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Legal, and customer teams connect across the product lifecycle.
- A cross-functional leader who can align senior stakeholders, establish decision rights, and drive accountability without waiting for someone else to define ownership.
- A data-driven and analytically rigorous decision-maker who can make sound judgments with incomplete information and maintain urgency through execution.
- A people leader who develops strong teams, builds subject matter expertise, and creates a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement.
What We Need
- Drive cross-functional processes and own Supply Chain deliverables for global product certification and market readiness, including certification roadmaps across products and countries, clear readiness gates, coordination with Engineering, Product, Legal, manufacturing partners, test labs, and regulatory bodies, and early mitigation of risks that could affect customer commitments or launches.
- Own and mature the company’s S&OP process by connecting customer demand, Sales forecasts, supply, manufacturing capacity, inventory, and financial objectives into a disciplined operating cadence and trusted view for executive decision-making.
- Build and own the end-to-end global RMA and customer operations model within Supply Chain, covering intake, triage, replacement, repair, warranty management, disposition, customer communication, service levels, escalation paths, and performance metrics, in partnership with Customer, Quality, and Engineering teams.
- Establish the processes, systems, KPIs, dashboards, governance, and operating mechanisms required to scale, including measures for forecast accuracy, supply performance, inventory health, backlog, certification readiness, RMA performance, and execution against plan.
- Lead cross-functional execution with Sales, Product, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Manufacturing, test labs, regulatory bodies, and customer teams. Establish clear decision rights, simplify complex workflows, identify gaps before they become business problems, and drive shared decisions through to completion while retaining Supply Chain ownership of the deliverables.
What You Will Learn
- Gain broad exposure to the full operating model of a rapidly growing hardware and semiconductor business, from product development and global market readiness through supply planning, manufacturing, delivery, and customer support.
- Build expertise in integrating Supply Chain-owned certification deliverables, S&OP, RMA, and customer operations into one scalable product lifecycle operating system.
- Develop the leadership and operating mechanisms required to turn cross-functional complexity into clear ownership, timely decisions, and measurable execution.
- See directly how operational decisions influence product launch timing, customer commitments, product quality, inventory, revenue, and the company’s ability to scale globally.
- Create the foundation for a supply chain management organization that grows with Tenstorrent’s products, markets, customers, and operational complexity.
Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
Tenstorrent offers a highly competitive compensation package and benefits, and we are an equal opportunity employer.
