Inventory Accountant (OM&S) - Federal Audit Readiness | Secret Clearance

We have openings for Inventory Accountants with a strong reconciliation and analytics background to support Operating Materials & Supplies (OM&S) audit readiness for the Department of the Air Force. If you've valued inventory, tested balances, or untangled differences between financial and logistics records, this team needs you.

Day to day, you will:

• Build and support OM&S valuation models and documentation under SFFAS 3 and SFFAS 48
• Reconcile inventory balances between financial and logistics systems and explain variances
• Perform substantive testing following the GAO/CIGIE Financial Audit Manual (FAM)
• Run risk assessments that surface process weaknesses and internal control gaps
• Analyze large inventory datasets in Excel to validate data and identify trends
• Work with stakeholders to pull supporting documentation and resolve reporting discrepancies

Requirements:

• Active Secret clearance
• At least 4 years of accounting, financial reporting, or audit experience, including support for federal or DoD financial operations
• Background in inventory accounting, OM&S, valuation, accruals, or audit testing
• Advanced Excel and a strong track record with reconciliations and data analysis
• Willingness to be onsite at Joint Base Andrews three to four days a week

Preferred:

• Experience with SFFAS 3 and 48
• Federal financial statement audit experience
• DoD or Air Force financial management background
• Power Query, SQL, Python, or similar tools
• CPA, CGFM, CDFM, or similar certification
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
