Head of Cyber Security

I'm currently conducting a search for an experienced Head of Cyber Security to join a large, established Australian organisation.

This is a senior leadership appointment with responsibility for the organisation's cyber security strategy, capability and resilience, working across a complex and geographically distributed environment.

The successful person will inherit an established cyber capability while having the opportunity to influence its future direction and continue developing the organisation's security maturity.

The opportunity You'll provide leadership across:

• Cyber security strategy and roadmap
• Security operations and incident response
• Governance, risk and compliance
• Cyber resilience and business continuity
• Identity and access management
• Security architecture and controls
• Third-party and supply-chain security risk
• Security awareness and culture
• Executive and senior stakeholder engagement
• Leadership and development of the cyber security function

This role requires someone who can operate comfortably across both strategy and operations.

You'll bring enough technical depth to provide credible leadership to security specialists, while being equally comfortable engaging with executives and translating complex cyber risks into clear business conversations.

About you

You may currently be operating as a:

Head of Cyber Security Head of Information Security Deputy CISO Senior Cyber Security Manager

We're particularly interested in leaders who have operated within large, complex or highly regulated environments.

Experience within sectors handling significant volumes of sensitive or personal information would be highly regarded.

Most importantly, you'll have demonstrated experience leading cyber teams, developing security strategy, managing organisational cyber risk and influencing at senior leadership level.
