Workday Financials Functional Lead (Healthcare)

Location: Remote (Northeast preferred) with monthly onsite travel (travel expenses covered)

About the Opportunity

Healthcare IT Leaders is partnering with a large, nationally recognized healthcare organization embarking on a critical Workday Financials initiative. The program is approaching a major go-live and is seeking an experienced Workday Financials Functional Lead to stabilize the Financials workstream, partner with executive stakeholders, and ensure a successful implementation and transition to ongoing operations.

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for a senior Workday Financials consultant who has successfully led complex healthcare implementations and can confidently guide clients through deployment, go-live, and stabilization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Workday Financials functional workstream through implementation, go-live, and post-production stabilization.
• Validate and optimize the Workday Financial Data Model (FDM) and Chart of Accounts.
• Review and refine financial business processes and system configuration.
• Ensure readiness for financial reporting and period-end close activities.
• Audit implementation partner deliverables and provide strategic recommendations to ensure quality and best practices.
• Partner with Finance, IT, and executive stakeholders to resolve functional challenges and mitigate project risks.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and mentor internal support teams transitioning from legacy ERP systems.
• Drive issue resolution while maintaining alignment with project milestones and organizational objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading Workday Financials implementations in a Functional Lead or Client-Side Lead capacity.
• Multiple full-cycle Workday Financials implementations.
• Healthcare provider experience required.
• Deep expertise with:
  • Financial Data Model (FDM)
  • Chart of Accounts design and validation
  • Accounting Center
  • Financial Reporting
  • Financial business process configuration
• Experience preparing organizations for financial close and production readiness.
• Proven ability to review, challenge, and validate System Integrator (SI) deliverables.
• Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large, complex healthcare organizations.
• Prior experience transitioning organizations from PeopleSoft or another legacy ERP platform to Workday.
• Consulting background with experience navigating enterprise-scale ERP transformations.

Logistics

• Immediate start.
• Remote with travel to client site at least once per month.
• All required travel expenses are covered by the client.
• Candidates located in the Northeast are strongly preferred, though highly qualified candidates across the U.S. will be considered.
