Job Description

Field Service Engineer
Bradford - with UK-wide travel
Salary IRO £40K PA

The Role
We are looking for a multi-skilled Field Service Engineer to join our clients growing team specialising in packaging machinery.

They sell, install, service and provide customer training on a varied range of equipment, primarily filling and capping machinery.

The successful candidate will work from our clients Bradford base as well as travelling to customer sites throughout the UK to install, service and maintain machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation and commissioning of packaging machinery
  • Servicing, maintenance and fault finding
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Working with PLCs and electrical control systems
  • Providing technical support to customers
  • Training customers on the operation and maintenance of equipment
  • Working on filling, capping and other packaging machinery
  • Completing work both independently and as part of the engineering team
  • Travelling to customer sites throughout the UK

Experience & Skills
We are looking for a multi-skilled engineer, ideally with a stronger electrical background combined with good mechanical knowledge.

Experience in the following would be advantageous:

  • Packaging or production machinery
  • PLC fault finding
  • Electrical fault finding and controls
  • Mechanical maintenance
  • Machinery installation and commissioning
  • Customer training and technical support

Candidates who have recently completed an engineering apprenticeship and gained relevant hands-on machinery experience will also be considered.

Travel
The position involves regular travel to customer sites throughout the UK, with approximately 5-6 nights away from home per month.
There may also be occasional travel to Ireland and Europe, although this is infrequent.

Ideal Candidate
This role would suit a practical, customer-focused engineer who enjoys varied work and is comfortable travelling. You should be confident fault finding, working independently at customer sites and communicating with customers in a professional manner.
