Senior BizTalk Integration Developer/Support Consultant

Seeking an experienced Senior BizTalk Integration Consultant.  This contractor will assume responsibility for business-critical BizTalk integrations, support the company’s active data-center migration, and help prepare the integration environment for its longer-term transition to Azure Integration Services.

Primary Responsibilities

 

• Provide hands-on development and production support for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2016 integrations.
• Support BizTalk applications, orchestrations, pipelines, maps, schemas, adapters, ports and host instances.
• Troubleshoot integration failures involving BizTalk, SQL Server, SAP, file transfers, certificates, networking and dependent applications.
• Support EDI, AS2, SFTP, FTP, file-based, web-service and SAP integrations.
• Assist with data-center migration planning, connectivity validation, cutover execution and post-migration stabilization.
• Coordinate end-to-end testing with application, SAP, infrastructure, database, networking, security and business teams.
• Monitor and recover failed or suspended transactions while minimizing business disruption.
• Support deployment activities, production changes and incident resolution, including scheduled after-hours work when required.
• Capture knowledge from the retiring team member and create or update technical documentation, operational procedures and support runbooks.
• Cross-train other team members to reduce reliance on individual subject-matter experts.
• Contribute to integration modernization planning and the gradual transition from BizTalk to Azure Integration Services and API-led integration patterns.

 

Required Experience

 

• Strong hands-on Microsoft BizTalk Server development and production-support experience.
• C#/.NET development experience.
• Strong SQL Server and T-SQL troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting high-volume, business-critical enterprise integrations.
• Experience with EDI, AS2, SFTP, JMS Queues/ESB, REST, SOAP and file-based integration patterns.
• Experience troubleshooting certificates, authentication, connectivity, firewall and network-related integration issues.
• Experience with BizTalk deployments, bindings, configuration, monitoring and recovery procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose complex production issues across multiple technical platforms.
• Strong documentation, knowledge-transfer and communication skills.
• Availability for planned after-hours migration activities, production implementations and critical incident support.

 

Preferred Experience

 

• Experience integrating BizTalk with SAP ECC or S/4HANA.
• Experience supporting a data-center migration or major infrastructure transition.
• Experience with BizTalk EDI processing, trading-partner management and high-volume B2B integrations.
• Familiarity with highly available BizTalk and SQL Server architectures.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Integration Services, including Logic Apps, Service Bus, Functions, Event Grid or API Management.
• Experience assessing or migrating legacy BizTalk integrations to cloud-based integration platforms.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, source control and automated deployment practices.

 

Candidate Profile

The preferred candidate is a senior, hands-on integration professional who can quickly assume operational ownership of an established BizTalk environment. The individual must be comfortable balancing immediate production-support and data-center migration priorities with documentation, knowledge transfer and longer-term modernization objectives.
This is not solely a development position. The consultant must have the judgment, troubleshooting depth and sense of ownership required to support integrations that are critical to daily business processing.
