Data Architect | Snowflake, DBT & AWS

Basildon, UK - 5 Days Onsite RequiredInside IR35, 6-Month Contract
We are seeking a Data Architect to lead the design and architecture of a modern cloud-based data platform. This opportunity is ideal for a data architecture professional with extensive experience delivering enterprise data warehouse solutions using Snowflake, DBT, and AWS.Key Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain enterprise data architecture standards and best practices.
  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models across staging, integration, and reporting layers.
  • Architect scalable ETL/ELT solutions for complex enterprise data environments.
  • Lead data mapping activities from source systems into Snowflake data platforms.
  • Drive data governance, lineage, quality, and documentation initiatives.
  • Establish performance optimisation strategies across Snowflake environments.
  • Partner with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect within enterprise-scale environments.
  • Strong expertise in Snowflake, DBT, and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of data warehousing methodologies including Kimball, Inmon, and Data Vault.
  • Extensive SQL and data modelling experience.
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT architecture and data integration frameworks.
  • AWS experience including services such as S3, Glue, EMR, and PySpark.
  • Experience defining data standards, governance frameworks, and architectural roadmaps.
Desirable
  • Experience with Iceberg and modern lakehouse architectures.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled data platforms and automation.
  • Previous experience leading data transformation or cloud migration programmes.
