Job Title: Senior Tableau & ETL Developer – SQL, SSIS, SSRS

Location: Hartford, Connecticut

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

The position is for a senior-level developer who will participate in various SDLC processes including requirements verification, design and development, testing, maintenance, and support activities
The specific focus of this candidate will include supporting existing applications, participating in the SDLC process of a new system, and working with a System Integrator to ensure transfer of knowledge and ongoing maintenance of the solution for a given module
The candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining SSRS reports and SSIS ETL packages, supporting SOA integration initiatives, and participating in SDLC activities including meetings, requirements verification, design, testing, and environment configuration
Required Skills / Experience:
A 10 or more years of prior experience demonstrating the following knowledge and skills is required
  • More than 5 years of experience with Tableau
  • More than 5 years of experience writing complex SQL queries
  • More than 5 years expertise with TSQL, SSRS, SSIS or Talend
  • Experience with debug and improve query performance
  • Experience with deploying SSIS packages using git check-in, setting up environmental variables and creating respective jobs in SQL Agent
  • Experience with Transact-SQL and stored procedures desired
  • Experience with creating, deploying and maintaining of Tallend reports
  • Experience with code control/version Team Foundation
  • Strong problem solving, cross-functional analysis and forward-thinking abilities
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations, handle multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines
 Preferred Skills / Experience:
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • MuleSoft
Job Responsibilities:Tableau Reporting:
  • Develop Tableau Reports
  • Develop different kinds of reports using Tableau as per user requirement and deploy to report server / integrated SharePoint report server
  • Work with dynamic grouping fields, dynamic group sorting, on-demand sub reports, drill down and summary reports, and cross tab reports highlighting key summary information
Data Architecture & Data Modeling:
  • Assist in the design and development of database architecture including relational data structures, data marts, data dictionaries and logical and physical data models
  • Develop strategies for data acquisitions, data quality and data discrepancy
SQL Development:
  • Develop and maintain efficient, well documented custom SQL scripts, stored procedures and triggers using Microsoft T-SQL in accordance with defined business rules and requirements to support application development
  • Access data stored in a variety of database management systems such as DB2, SQL Server and other
ETL / ELT Development:
  • Design, develop and implement ETL / ELT solutions for data ingestion, cleansing, business rules execution and Data Distribution
  • Implement Data Analytics best practices in designing data modeling, ETL Pipelines and Near time data solutions
  • Perform tests and validate data flows and prepare ETL processes according to business requirements
  • Design and implement a data conversion strategy from legacy to new platforms
  • Perform design validation, reconciliation and error handling in data load processes
  • Optimize SSIS Package execution and SQL execution to optimize data load performance
  • Design SSIS packages using data exchange tasks such as File transfer and Secured File transfer
  • Import and export files from FTP/SFTP
Data Migration & Integration:
  • Assist in migration and integration of data and processes from legacy systems to new applications and new technologies
  • Implement solutions to integrate external data with inhouse data
  • Participate in requirements gathering, data mapping, data extraction, data loading, data testing, troubleshooting, documentation, performance optimization and maintenance
Requirements & Collaboration:
  • Coordinate with Business Analyst and users to validate requirements

Ideal Candidate:
Based on the actual responsibilities and experience requirements, the strongest candidate is a senior Tableau / ETL / SQL development professional with at least 10 years of overall relevant experience and substantial hands-on experience building enterprise reporting and data-integration solutions
The ideal candidate should combine
Tableau + Complex SQL + T-SQL + SSIS + SSRS or Talend + ETL/ELT + Data Modeling
The strongest candidate will have more than 5 years each working with Tableau, complex SQL queries, and T-SQL / SSRS / SSIS or Talend
The candidate should also be comfortable working across the complete data lifecycle including
Requirements Gathering + Data Mapping + Data Extraction + Data Loading + Data Testing + Reconciliation + Troubleshooting + Performance Optimization + Documentation
A particularly strong match will have experience optimizing SQL and SSIS performance, deploying SSIS packages, working with SQL Agent, building stored procedures, integrating legacy and modern systems, developing Tableau reports, and designing data-conversion and migration processes
Experience with Salesforce and MuleSoft would provide an additional advantage
This role is best suited to a senior hands-on developer who can independently drive work from requirements through implementation rather than someone whose background is limited to dashboard creation or basic SQL reporting
Work Schedule & Hybrid Expectations:
  • Full-Time 40hrs
