Technical Writer

Varmoda is hiring an experienced Technical Writer to develop, maintain, and improve technical documentation for a cloud-based Identity and Access Management (IAM) environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Microsoft Entra External ID (Azure AD B2C), authentication protocols, application integrations, and cloud technologies. This role partners with developers, architects, security teams, and business stakeholders to create clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and enhance technical documentation, onboarding guides, runbooks, and integration guides.
• Document identity and access management solutions, authentication flows, and application integrations.
• Develop quick-start guides, troubleshooting documentation, code samples, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure documentation accuracy and consistency.
• Establish documentation standards, templates, taxonomy, and governance processes.
• Support application onboarding, change management, incident response, and operational readiness activities.
• Ensure documentation complies with Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
• Maintain documentation repositories and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of technical writing experience supporting cloud, cybersecurity, IAM, or related technologies.
• 2+ years of experience documenting Azure AD B2C/Microsoft Entra External ID or similar IAM platforms.
• Strong knowledge of OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, SAML 2.0, MSAL, JWT, PKCE, and Azure Application Registration.
• Experience creating developer guides, API documentation, onboarding playbooks, and operational runbooks.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and documentation management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and Docs-as-Code practices.
• ​Knowledge of ARM, Bicep, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Familiarity with .NET, JavaScript, Java, or Python.
• Experience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and security-focused environments.
• Experience supporting government, healthcare, financial services, or other regulated industries.

Certifications Required (one or more):

• CPTC
• Microsoft SC-300
• Microsoft AZ-900
• CPACC or equivalent accessibility certification

Preferred:

• Azure Administrator Associate
• Azure Developer Associate
• DevOps Engineer Expert
• Additional cloud, security, accessibility, or technical communication certifications.
