Job Description

We are seeking an Import Compliance & Customs Operations Specialist to support U.S. import compliance and customs operations. This role ensures compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, manages import transactions, reviews customs documentation, and supports USMCA and other Free Trade Agreement programs. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations, customs entry processes, HTS classification, broker management, and current import trade requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage import compliance activities and monitor import transactions for CBP compliance.
  • Review and assign HTS classifications, customs valuation, country of origin, and import documentation.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers and resolve customs clearance issues, shipment holds, and entry discrepancies.
  • Support USMCA qualification reviews, supplier certifications, documentation, and record retention.
  • Analyze trade data, maintain audit-ready compliance records, and monitor regulatory changes.
  • Partner with Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure compliant import operations and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Import Compliance, Customs Operations, or International Trade.
  • Strong knowledge of CBP regulations, customs entry operations, HTS classification, USMCA, and Free Trade Agreements.
  • Experience with broker management and U.S. import entry guidelines.
  • Understanding of current U.S. import trade regulations and industry trends.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Previous experience as a Customs Broker or Entry Writer is highly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
