Job Description

ON-SITE MANAGER

Self-Employed | | On-Site | 7-Day Operation

Are you an experienced logistics or transport professional ready to take ownership of a busy delivery operation?

ATA Sameday is looking for a confident, organised and hands-on On-Site Manager to join our Hived delivery operation.

This is a key operational role where you will be responsible for managing drivers, monitoring routes, resolving issues and keeping the site running efficiently.

THE ROLE

As the On-Site Manager, you'll be responsible for the smooth running of the daily operation and will act as a key point of contact for drivers and the wider team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day on-site delivery operation.
  • Monitoring driver attendance and performance.
  • Managing route allocation and driver coverage.
  • Monitoring route progress throughout the day.
  • Overseeing loading and unloading processes.
  • Supporting drivers with operational issues while out on route.
  • Providing driver support, guidance and feedback.
  • Managing driver performance issues where required.
  • Supporting driver onboarding and inductions.
  • Ensuring drivers follow operational procedures.
  • Identifying and resolving operational issues.
  • Escalating issues to management where required.
  • Maintaining accurate daily operational records.
  • Reporting accidents and incidents.
  • Monitoring vehicle damage and safety concerns.
  • Maintain performance levels within SLA requirements
  • Manage fleet requirements at site level.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're interested in candidates with experience in:

  • Logistics
  • Driver or delivery management.
  • Team leadership or supervision.
  • Fleet, depot or site operations.
  • Fast-paced operational environments.

You'll need to be:

  • Confident managing and communicating with drivers.
  • Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities.
  • A strong problem-solver with a proactive approach.
  • Comfortable making decisions and taking ownership.
  • Professional, approachable and reliable.
  • Able to work independently.

Previous experience as an On-Site Manager is not essential if you have strong transferable management or logistics experience.

ABOUT THE CONTRACT

The Contract operates a fully electric delivery fleet, with all vehicles on the contract being electric.

You'll work closely with drivers and the wider team to ensure routes are covered, operational issues are dealt with quickly and the delivery operation remains safe and efficient.

ROLE DETAILS

Position: On-Site Manager
Pay: £150 per day
Employment Type: Self-Employed
Location: On-site
Operation: 7 days per week
Working Pattern: Maximum of 6 consecutive working days
Weekend Availability: Required
