DC Technicians Job Description

Scope of Services:

- Facilities & Hardware Operations:
- Linux and Bash (Command Line & Scripting).
- Rack/stack of servers, storage, and network gear; cabling and labeling.
- IMACD (Install/Move/Add/Change/Decommission) activities.
- RMA handling, vendor coordination, and spares logistics.
- Environmental checks (power, cooling, space), visual inspections, and DCIM updates.
- Run Operations & Hands/Eyes Support:
- Power cycling, console access, media swaps, and escorting vendors.
- Onsite support for changing windows and emergency response support.
- Connecting and removing cables.
- Physical audits (asset inventory, cage/rack reconciliation).
- Process & Documentation:
- Maintain SOPs, update runbooks, and topology/port maps at the DC.
- Manage incident, change, and problem records per client's ITSM process.
