ServiceNow Developer

Location: Washington, D.C. Area (Ability to work fully remote to start; Partial onsite might be required in the future)

Role Overview

As a ServiceNow Developer, you will have a supporting role in designing, developing, and implementing solutions within the ServiceNow platform. This position involves helping to maintain and support continual service improvements on modules such as ITSM, ITOM, CSM, ITAM, CMDB, HAM, and HRSD. This is a remote position, but candidates must be willing to work east coast core work hours and be local to the Washington, DC area, as there is a potential for some return-to-office requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Exhibit customer service and teamwork, collaborating with teammates, clients, and vendors under the guidance of senior staff.
• Assist in gathering and documenting business and system requirements.
• Support the development of use cases and testing procedures to verify product functionality.
• Participate in project team meetings with technical staff and other stakeholders.
• Assist with the creation of implementation plans, SOPs, and system architecture documentation under supervision.
• Support the architecture, design, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions as directed.
• Help design, create, and configure Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts, and ACLs with guidance.
• Support the development of automation workflows and perform unit tests.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 1-2 years of experience with the ServiceNow platform, or demonstrable foundational knowledge of its architecture and capabilities. Exposure to design, development, or support tasks on a platform or software project is required.
• Basic experience or coursework with JavaScript/Glide, HTML5, jQuery, and CSS. Basic familiarity with ITSM, ITOM, and ITAM concepts is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to integrating ServiceNow with external systems.
• ServiceNow Certifications.
• Knowledge of AI integration within ServiceNow, including Now Assist and AI Agents.
• Strong knowledge of the ServiceNow Suite (ITSM, ITOM, ITAM), workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, and portal development.
• Expertise in ITAM (SAM/HAM) and ITOM (CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping) modules.
• Exposure to Angular JS, Flow Designer, or system integrations.
• Interest in or exposure to ServiceNow custom-scoped application development.
