Sr. Security Engineer

Join a dynamic Information Security Compliance team supporting critical government compliance initiatives and broader cybersecurity governance efforts. Responsibilities

• Support government compliance activities by helping ensure alignment with applicable regulatory and cybersecurity frameworks.
• Evaluate control evidence and artifacts to demonstrate compliance during audits and assessments.
• Research evolving requirements and prepare concise summaries for leadership.
• Develop, maintain, and improve policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
• Assist with security questionnaires and third-party risk management responses.
• Contribute to special projects tied to changing regulatory and cybersecurity needs.
• Help maintain system security plans and related compliance documentation.
• Work with technical and business teams to strengthen security controls and support audit readiness.
• Participate in vulnerability, risk, and security assessments as needed.
• Support incident response, forensic review, and other security operations activities when required.
• Monitor new technologies and evaluate potential compliance, security, and productivity impacts, including emerging AI tools.

Skills

• Experience in IT audit, compliance, or a related governance, risk, and compliance role.
• Strong knowledge of control frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, NIST CSF, ISO 27001/27002, FedRAMP, PCI DSS, or CIS Controls.
• Ability to gather, review, and interpret evidence for audits and assessments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to research regulations and explain findings clearly to leadership.
• Strong documentation skills, including drafting and interpreting policies and procedures.
• Working knowledge of information security, network architecture, and cloud computing concepts.
• Self-directed approach with the ability to work independently and deliver practical results.
• Comfort collaborating across teams and driving tasks forward in a project-based environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting U.S. government compliance requirements.
• Experience developing or maintaining System Security Plans.
• Project management experience.
• Familiarity with the aviation industry.
• One or more of the following certifications in good standing: CISSP, CISA, or CRISC.
• Interest in emerging AI tools and an understanding of related risks and compliance considerations.
