Assistant Technical Apparel Designer

IDR is seeking a contract Assistant Technical Apparel Designer to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role involves supporting the development and production of graphic and technical apparel products within the consumer products industry, focusing on technical documentation, artwork preparation, and factory collaboration. This role will be Hybrid out of LA.
Position Overview for the Assistant Technical Apparel Designer

• Support the execution of global merchandise by creating detailed tech packs, preparing production-ready artwork, and supporting production workflows.
• Collaborate with design, production, and factory teams to ensure garments meet technical and aesthetic specifications.
• Assist in translating graphic assets into apparel-appropriate formats considering color restrictions, fabric limitations, and print methods.
• Manage sample logistics, track timelines, and ensure clear communication between internal teams and factories.
• Help produce technical documentation for garments such as printables, cut & sew garments, and accessories.

Requirements for the Assistant Technical Apparel Designer :

• Experience in technical design, apparel production, or product development.
• Hands-on experience with screen printing fundamentals and vector artwork creation.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, manufacturing workflows, and sourcing.
• Ability to create highly detailed tech packs for various apparel types.
• Knowledge of proper image sizing and placement for printables like T-shirts and hoodies.
