Facilities Technician - Facilities Technician II
Location: Garland, Texas
Role Overview
We are seeking Facilities Technician II professionals to support the operations at a Garland distribution center. This role supports critical building systems, preventative maintenance programs, equipment repairs, and overall facility uptime. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of facility and automation systems in a fast-paced, technology-driven operation.
Key Responsibilities

• Repairing and making improvements to building and infrastructure.
• Maintaining the distribution center's HVAC system.
• Supporting and maintaining fire protection systems.
• Maintaining and repairing distribution center racking.
• Repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and automated conveyor systems.
• Repairing and maintaining the building pneumatic system.
• Completing preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.
• Tracking and storing the department's inventory, including spare parts.
• Promoting and conducting good housekeeping practices.
• Supporting continuous improvement in the department.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience in facilities, maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or mechanical environments.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
• Excellent safety awareness and a customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
• 4+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
• HVAC certifications or hands-on commercial/industrial HVAC experience.
• Electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
• Experience in distribution centers, fulfillment centers, manufacturing plants, or warehouses.
• Metal and wood fabrication skills, including welding.
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers, management, contractors, and vendors.

Work Environment

• Daily Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm
• Work involves repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
• Lifting parts and tools occasionally weighing up to 80 pounds is required.
• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, and standing on concrete for long hours.
