Junior Data Scientist with Security Clearance

Essential Functions

• Develop, train, and evaluate custom machine learning and AI models, including both supervised and unsupervised approaches.
• Apply natural language processing (NLP) techniques to extract, enrich, and analyze unstructured data.
• Improve and expand existing entity extraction processes, incorporating new entities and models to improve analytic outcomes.
• Evaluate enterprise data holdings and develop models and techniques that enrich data toward mission advantage.
• Manipulate, cleanse, and prepare structured and unstructured data for model development and analysis.
• Build data visualizations that communicate analytic findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate within an Agile delivery team, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and continuous delivery.

Competencies

• 2+ years of experience with an analytical or statistical language such as Python, R, or SQL.
• Exposure to machine learning concepts, including model training and evaluation.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile development environment.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
• Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Expresses or exchanges ideas by means of the spoken word.  Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.
• Frequently moves standard office equipment up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to work indoor conditions 90% of the time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position with flexible hours based on mission requirements.  Travel No travel is expected for this position.  Education Bachelor’s degree in data science or a related quantitative field with coursework or project experience in natural language processing or machine learning. Experience can be considered in lieu of education, Compensation and Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is $135,000.00-$140,000.00 per year (annualized hourly rate of pay).
