<strong>Systems Engineer (Requirements &amp; Acceptance)</strong> <br /> <strong>Barrow-in-Furness, BAE Systems</strong><br /> <strong>1-2 days on site per month</strong> <br /> <strong>12-Month Contract</strong><br /> <strong>£50.00 per hour PAYE or £67.47 per hour Umbrella</strong><br />I'm working with <strong>BAE Systems</strong> on an exciting opportunity for a <strong>Principal Engineer – Systems Engineering (Requirements &amp; Acceptance)</strong> to support the <strong>Dreadnought Active Vehicle Control Functional Software Team</strong>.<br /> <br />This role sits at the forefront of complex engineering development, helping to define, validate and verify software requirements through a Model-Based Design approach. You'll be developing and validating behavioural simulation models and supporting systems that enable stakeholder acceptance of critical software functionality.<br /><br />

What you'll be doing:

<br />✅ Developing and validating models of plant and interfacing systems<br /> ✅ Supporting the specification, verification and validation of AVC application software requirements<br /> ✅ Creating simulation models to test product performance and behaviour<br /> ✅ Working within a Model-Based Design environment using MATLAB &amp; Simulink<br /> ✅ Collaborating within Agile delivery teams using Jira, Git and Bitbucket<br /> <br />Key skills required: <br />✔ Strong <strong>Simulink</strong> experience (essential)<br /> ✔ Experience with <strong>Model-Based Design</strong> and dynamic system modelling<br /> ✔ Knowledge of control systems, hydraulic systems, mechanical systems or similar engineering domains<br /> ✔ Experience from highly regulated sectors such as <strong>Defence, Aerospace, Automotive or Marine</strong><br /> ✔ Understanding of standards such as <strong>ARP4754</strong> and/or <strong>DO-178</strong> (desirable)<br /> ✔ Knowledge of version control, continuous integration and branch/merge strategies (desirable)<br /> ✔ Experience with the <strong>Atlassian toolset</strong> including Jira and Bitbucket (desirable)<br /> <br />If you're interested in applying or would like to discuss the opportunity in more detail, please get in touch. <br /><br />#SystemsEngineering #Simulink #ModelBasedDesign #DefenceJobs #BAESystems #EngineeringJobs #ContractJobs #Matlab #RequirementsEngineering #VerificationAndValidation
