Our client seeks a Cloud Application Software Security Engineer to remediate vulnerabilities and mature SDLC pipelines. The role will focus on addressing findings from Mythos, CVE and Known Exploited Vulnerabilities, and open HVA and SA&A assessments. The engineer will collaborate with development and platform teams to reduce risk across custom application code and infrastructure as code in AWS.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

- Review and triage vulnerability scan results for FPS applications and cloud services.
- Analyze and prioritize CVEs and KEVs impacting application components and AWS resources.
- Remediate security findings in custom code and infrastructure as code.
- Collaborate with developers to implement secure coding fixes and guardrails.
- Patch and configure cloud services to address identified weaknesses.
- Close findings from HVA and SA&A assessments with documented evidence.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines to enforce security controls and quality gates.
- Document remediation steps, exceptions, and risk mitigation plans.
- Support compliance, audit requests, and penetration test remediation.
Experience Requirements:
- Experience in application security and cloud security engineering.
- Hands-on work with AWS services and security configurations.
- Proficiency remediating CVEs and KEVs across software and cloud resources.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management tooling and pipelines.
- Experience addressing HVA and SA&A findings or similar audit frameworks.
- Ability to review, fix, and validate issues in custom code and IaC.
- Experience improving SDLC and CI/CD security controls.
- Effective documentation and cross-team collaboration skills.
