Davis Machine- CNC Programmer

Pay: $70,000- $105,000

Salary Exempt position- Compensation package will be determined based on relevant CNC programming experience, aerospace manufacturing background, technical expertise, and overall qualifications.

Davis Machine is hiring an experienced CNC Programmer to help drive production of precision aerospace components supporting defense and commercial aircraft programs.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, create, and modify CNC programs for precision-machined aerospace components.
  • Program CNC mills and/or lathes based on engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Review blueprints, models, and technical drawings to determine appropriate machining methods and sequences.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, fixtures, and machining strategies.
  • Create and optimize toolpaths to improve machining efficiency, quality, and cycle times.
  • Troubleshoot CNC programs and make necessary adjustments to resolve machining or production issues.
  • Support CNC machinists and operators with program-related questions and setup requirements.
  • Perform program prove-outs and assist with first-piece production as needed.
  • Work closely with Quality to ensure finished parts meet dimensional and customer specifications.
  • Maintain and revise existing CNC programs as required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, reduce cycle times, and minimize scrap.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate programming and manufacturing documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of CNC programming experience, preferably in an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling, speeds, feeds, and workholding.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experience programming CNC mills and/or lathes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining and programming issues.
  • Experience working with tight tolerances and precision-machined components.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with Engineering, Quality, Production, and machine operators.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple programming priorities.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience programming multi-axis CNC equipment.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM programming software.
  • Experience machining aerospace materials such as aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and Inconel.
  • Knowledge of first-article inspection and AS9100 manufacturing environments.
  • Previous hands-on CNC machining or setup experience is preferred.
