Senior Linux Systems Administrator / HPC

A leading institution in Chicago is hiring a Systems Administrator to support advanced computing systems within a fast-growing data science environment. This role focuses on Linux infrastructure, high performance computing clusters, and modern automation tools such as Ansible, Docker, and distributed storage technologies.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience administering Linux systems in production
• Experience with scripting using Python or Bash
• Background in systems, servers, or infrastructure support
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP IP and DNS
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience supporting HPC or clustered computing environments
• Familiarity with distributed storage such as ZFS, Lustre, or similar
• Experience with container tools such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Exposure to multi-platform environments including macOS and Linux
• Experience with monitoring systems and performance tuning
