Role: Senior DataStage Developer / DataStage Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior DataStage Developer with strong hands-on experience in IBM DataStage, Unix/Linux Shell Scripting, and Oracle PL/SQL. The candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise-level ETL and data warehouse solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy ETL jobs using IBM InfoSphere DataStage.
• Develop complex DataStage Parallel Jobs, Sequences, and Shared Containers.
• Create and maintain Unix/Linux Shell scripts for batch processing and automation.
• Develop and optimize Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
• Perform performance tuning of DataStage jobs, SQL queries, and PL/SQL programs.
• Troubleshoot ETL and production issues and provide L2/L3 production support.
• Work with data architects and business teams to understand requirements and implement ETL solutions.
• Support batch scheduling and monitoring using tools such as Control-M or Autosys.
• Work with enterprise data warehouse concepts, dimensional modeling, and data transformation.
• Implement and maintain SCD Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 processes.
• Ensure data quality, process reliability, and proper technical documentation.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of IBM InfoSphere DataStage experience
• Strong experience with DataStage Parallel Framework
• Strong Unix/Linux experience
• Excellent Shell Scripting skills – Bash/Korn Shell
• Strong Oracle PL/SQL development experience
• Experience with ETL and Data Warehousing
• Strong SQL and database performance-tuning skills
• Experience with Control-M, Autosys, or similar scheduling tools
• Knowledge of Dimensional Modeling and SCD
• Strong troubleshooting and production-support experience

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with high-volume enterprise ETL environments
• DataStage job performance optimization
• Experience with legacy ETL modernization or migration
• Experience with source-code repositories and deployment processes
• Exposure to DevOps/CI-CD practices is a plus
