Position Summary SHR Consulting Group is seeking a Senior System Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide senior-level engineering, infrastructure administration, cybersecurity, application integration, and Tier III support for DISA J6's ITS/DMM environment. The Senior System Engineer SME will support highly available mission-critical systems, Windows Server and Microsoft infrastructure, application integrations, automation, cybersecurity compliance, system upgrades, incident resolution, and Authority to Operate (ATO) sustainment. This role includes onsite maintenance, BearTracks upgrades, server availability, system-health monitoring, network/server troubleshooting, application support, system engineering, and cybersecurity compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior systems engineering and Tier III technical support for the ITS/DMM environment.
• Administer and maintain:
• Windows Server
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Internet Information Services (IIS)
• Enterprise applications and associated infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance, availability, application health, infrastructure, hardware, and software.
• Diagnose and resolve complex server, application, network, integration, and infrastructure issues.
• Support installation and upgrades of ITS, BearTracks, Digital Mail, and supporting applications.
• Support enterprise application integrations and REST API services.
• Develop automation and administrative solutions using:
• PowerShell
• Python
• C#
• C++
• Provide technical support for planned and unplanned network, application, and infrastructure changes.
• Support Tier I-Tier III technical escalations and incident resolution.
• Assess system configurations and recommend infrastructure, software, hardware, and technology improvements.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate infrastructure changes through Government change-management processes.
• Support system testing, validation, upgrades, enhancements, and technology refresh activities.
• Collaborate with Government technical teams, application developers, cybersecurity teams, and other contractor organizations.

The Senior System Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) additionally calls for troubleshooting high-level anomalies, maintaining systems in accordance with DISA security requirements, supporting data administration, implementing platform enhancements, and recommending system configurations and technology improvements. Cybersecurity Responsibilities

• Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities.
• Support ATO development and sustainment.
• Develop and maintain STIG-related documentation and configurations.
• Support ACAS vulnerability identification and remediation.
• Maintain Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
• Support system hardening and cybersecurity engineering.
• Coordinate with DISA J6's ATO team and technical stakeholders.
• Ensure infrastructure and applications remain compliant with applicable DoD/DISA requirements.

The Senior System Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) coordinates supporting STIGs, POA&Ms, technical ATO documentation, and ongoing coordination with the DISA J6 ATO team. Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree.
• Minimum 7 years of experience supporting:
• Enterprise systems engineering,
• Infrastructure administration, and/or
• Tier III technical support.
• Experience administering Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and IIS environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise application integrations and REST API services.
• Experience using PowerShell and Python and/or C#/C++ for scripting, automation, or systems administration.
• Experience with:
• RMF
• ATO
• STIGs
• ACAS
• Vulnerability remediation
• Cybersecurity engineering
• Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical enterprise systems.
• Experience coordinating infrastructure changes through formal enterprise change-management processes.
• Experience operating within DoD IT and cybersecurity environments.

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III compliant certification, such as:
• CASP+,
• CISSP, or
• Government-approved equivalent.

Security Clearance

• Active Secret clearance required at minimum. U.S. citizenship required.

Work Environment

• 100% onsite at a government facility within the National Capital Region (NCR), primarily at the Pentagon, Crystal Gateway, Taylor Building, Mark Center, or other JSP-designated alternate site. Must be local to the DC Metro Area with reliable transportation.
