Chemical Engineer

Location: Southampton<br />Salary: £60,000 + Benefits<br />Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time We are recruiting for a Chemical Process Engineer to join a leading chemical manufacturing business. Reporting to the Engineering &amp; Maintenance Manager, you will act as the site's principal Chemical Engineer, driving process safety, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across an Upper Tier COMAH site. Key Responsibilities

• Provide chemical engineering support for projects, modifications, and improvement initiatives.
• Drive process safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
• Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, efficiency, and cost performance.
• Support Management of Change (MOC) and process safety requirements.
• Monitor and report KPI and utility performance.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Operations teams to optimise performance.
• Lead investigations into process-related incidents and safety concerns. About You
• Degree qualified Chemical Engineer or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience within a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of COMAH regulations, process safety, and continuous improvement.
• Experience working on plant modifications and process optimisation projects.
• Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
