Job Title: Product Owner Agentic AI Location: Columbus, OH
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner Agentic AI to define, prioritize, and deliver AI-powered products and intelligent agent solutions that automate business processes and improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will combine strong product management capabilities with a solid understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), autonomous AI agents, multi-agent systems, and enterprise workflow automation.
The Product Owner will work closely with business stakeholders, AI/ML engineers, software developers, data scientists, architects, and UX teams to translate business problems into product requirements, define product roadmaps, manage backlogs, and deliver measurable business outcomes. This role requires the ability to identify suitable agentic AI use cases, establish evaluation criteria, manage risks, and ensure AI solutions are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Roadmap
  • Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Agentic AI solutions aligned with business priorities.
  • Identify business opportunities where AI agents and intelligent automation can improve productivity, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, and workshops to identify business needs and define product requirements.
  • Evaluate AI use cases based on business value, technical feasibility, implementation complexity, risk, and return on investment.
  • Define product success metrics, KPIs, adoption targets, and measurable business outcomes.
Product Backlog and Agile Delivery
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog for Agentic AI initiatives.
  • Write clear epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements.
  • Work with engineering teams to break down complex AI capabilities into deliverable increments.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Coordinate dependencies across AI engineering, data engineering, application development, security, and platform teams.
  • Validate deliverables against business requirements and acceptance criteria.
Agentic AI and Generative AI
  • Develop a strong understanding of LLM-powered agents, agent orchestration, tool calling, function calling, and multi-step reasoning workflows.
  • Define requirements for AI agents that interact with APIs, enterprise applications, databases, and business systems.
  • Partner with technical teams to design agent workflows, human-in-the-loop approval mechanisms, escalation paths, and exception handling.
  • Understand agent frameworks and platforms such as LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, or equivalent technologies.
  • Define requirements for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, knowledge retrieval, and enterprise search where applicable.
  • Support the development of AI-powered copilots, workflow assistants, autonomous task execution, and intelligent decision-support capabilities.
AI Evaluation, Governance, and Risk Management
  • Define evaluation frameworks for agent accuracy, task completion, reliability, latency, cost, and user satisfaction.
  • Establish requirements for testing, monitoring, observability, and continuous improvement of AI agents.
  • Partner with security, legal, compliance, and governance teams to address data privacy, access control, responsible AI, and regulatory requirements.
  • Define guardrails for hallucination prevention, prompt injection, unauthorized tool usage, and sensitive data exposure.
  • Ensure appropriate human oversight for high-impact or sensitive automated decisions.
  • Track production performance, failure patterns, user feedback, and opportunities for improvement.
Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as the primary product representative for business stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable requirements that technical teams can implement.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineering leads on feasibility, technical dependencies, integration requirements, and delivery planning.
  • Communicate roadmap progress, delivery risks, dependencies, and product outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Drive user acceptance testing, product demonstrations, release readiness, and post-launch feedback cycles.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, business analysis, or technology delivery, with relevant experience in AI product development.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, or Product Manager, preferably for AI-enabled products.
  • Strong understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, agentic workflows, and enterprise automation.
  • Experience defining product roadmaps, managing backlogs, writing user stories, and establishing acceptance criteria.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams and modern software development practices.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear product specifications and delivery plans.
  • Understanding of APIs, enterprise integrations, cloud platforms, data pipelines, and application architecture.
  • Experience defining KPIs, product success metrics, experimentation strategies, and business value measurements.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical thinking, and prioritization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience delivering production-grade Agentic AI or Generative AI solutions.
  • Familiarity with LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, or comparable agent frameworks.
