Databricks Data Engineer

📍 Location: Local Candidates Only (Hybrid – 3 Days Remote / 2 Days Onsite: Mondays & Thursdays)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Databricks Data Engineer with strong expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data solutions using Databricks and Apache Spark. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building enterprise-grade ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, and modern lakehouse architectures.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of IT experience
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks
• Strong experience building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Spark
• Expertise in Python and SQL (Scala is a plus)
• Experience with Delta Lake and Lakehouse Architecture
• Hands-on experience with Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines (DLT)
• Experience with Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
• Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing and Dimensional Data Modeling (Star/Snowflake Schema)
• Experience creating Databricks SQL Dashboards and Databricks Apps
• Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, and Data Security
• Experience with Lakeflow Jobs, Databricks Workflows, or orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills

• Databricks Certified Data Engineer (Associate/Professional)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps
• Experience working with Public Sector or State Government projects
